Chatter Buddies’ content and delivery methodology is rooted in research-based reading science.  Chatter Buddies’ content has been positively reviewed by the U.S. Department of Education, Sesame Street, PBS, and several nationally recognized reading researchers.

Even with only one program produced, Chatter Buddies has already shown educational and economic value. Preliminary research of Chatter Buddies proves it works.

In only three hours of exposure over an eight day period of time, at-risk four- and five-year old children in an inner-city school  made a 48 percent gain on the 25 selected language and literacy common core skills taught in the pilot episode compared to their peers (who were not exposed to Chatter Buddies) who made no gains through general    classroom instruction.

During the first week, the Chatter Buddies group (E) showed a 36 percent gain after watching the video episode for 1 hour and 28 minutes. Over the next four days, the E group made an additional 12 percent gain after viewing a different 3-5 minute segment of Chatter Buddies each day followed by a 10-15 minute corresponding lesson, which included predesigned activity materials and scripted verbal instructions, delivered by their classroom teacher.

1A data

Chatter Buddies’ pilot research protocol was replicated at a school that serves children diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Only the E groups showed a significant difference between pre- and post-testing.
